University of Pune 2020 Last year Exam Postponed Due to Staff Protest - SPPU Will Hold Exams Starting Oct 12 Now

 

The University of Pune has postponed the SPPU 2020 exams. The exams would now take place as of October 12, 2020. Check the exam details here.

Savitribai Phule Pune University, SPPU administration announced that senior year exams are postponed. Seniors' exams would take place starting October 5, 2020, but the schedule was not released. The exams would now take place as of October 12, 2020.

Exams have been delayed for numerous reasons, including a non-teaching staff strike, exam dates colliding with other competitive exams, and the delay in naming the agency that would be working on the exam-taking program. Exams for late students, which were supposed to start from October 1, have also been postponed.

“There are several other scheduled exams like UPSC, MPSC and NET during the same period and many seniors have applied for such exam. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the exam schedule until October 12, ”said the director of the SPPU exam and evaluation board, Mahesh Kakade. The SPPU exams were planned to be 50-point assignments with MCQ, multiple-choice questions, to be completed in one hour. The faculties of the SPPU had prepared sets of question papers for around 3,300 subjects so far. According to the varsity's previous schedule, the question paper sets were supposed to be ready by September 24, but so far they have not prepared such test sets for all subjects.

A total of 3.64 lakh students from different universities are affiliated with the university, of which 2.23 lakh students are regular students. This year, the varsity team has decided to take the exams online due to the pandemic. Many students from other states and foreign countries overly affiliated with universities in the Pune, Ahmednagar and Nashik districts will sit for the exam.
